Such a fun studio photography session with Momma-to-be (again :-)) Jennifer, Dad Jeff & their son, who we've named "the many faces of" Nik (Nikolajis is foreign spelling for Nicholas- how cool is that!), see below... Although it took them an hour and a half to get to the studio in the middle of the Blackout, that didn't stop the William's girls (Mom included!!) from making it to their portrait session with us in downtown San Juan Capistrano. Lucky for us, we were the only business in the neighborhood that was able to actually stay open- well for shooting purposes anyway! :-) We had a fun putting together their outfits in the half dark studio ... by the time we were finished with their session they were collecting their things by candlelight and an iPhone Flashlight App. Talk about commitment!!! :-) Thank you Amy, Sarah and Kate!! You Rock!

Meet the beautiful and sweet-as-can-be Ashland, who we had the honor of spending time with while she was on a quick trip to Cali over Labor Day weekend! Ashland currently attends Mississippi State University. We had so much fun on her session down at Laguna Beach and got to see the most incredible sunset. Not to shabby, huh?

Meet the incredible Sisneros Family!! What a beautiful family both inside and out!! We had so much fun photographing their family portrait session at the Historic Mission yesterday in downtown San Juan Capistrano. The textures and architecture of the Mission create such gorgeous backdrops, beautiful lighting, and endless possibilities. We have a fantastic special about to launch for our Fall Family Portraits so please keep your eyes peeled!!
If you are thinking about booking a session at the Mission, a few things to keep in mind with the kids heading back to school.... The Mission is open from 8:30am - 5pm daily. Booking a session during the week is great whenever possible because there are less people on the grounds, giving more flexibility for shooting locations. Also, scheduling your session as early or later in the day is best, for lighting, and also for less people. Due to the time constraints we will only be able to book a limited amount of sessions at the Mission. We encourage you to book your session as early as possible. This also gives you time and flexibility if you are thinking of using any of your images to have us create custom holiday cards for you! It might seem early to start thinking about holiday cards, but we all how quickly this time of year comes us and suddenly it's mid-December and we're thinking "What happened to 2011?" :-)

Check out these three ultra cutie patooties - Emma, Addison and Liam. Each of them have such individually unique personalities, which shined through them. However, when it came to playing with our props on their photo shoot they all chose the same props... thank goodness we had three of each of everything they chose!!! Phew! :-) They went for some fun by the train in downtown San Juan Capistrano with our vintage suitcases, vintage umbrellas and of course, pearls!! Doesn't every photo shoot need a set of pearls? Emma has the most sparkly blue eyes that are just so beautiful. And sweet Addison was very specific about what she was going the wear for the photo shoot, including her yellow scarf and hat... making sure that I did not leave out photographing her little blue rose on her favorite sweater.
Thanks to Momma Amy for bringing your beautiful little souls down to play with us and let us capture them at this excited time in their (and your) lives!

We finally got up to LA last weekend to photograph our dear friends Chey and Marisa's new addition, Baby Reyes. And he is sooooooo cute!!! with quite the little personality already, just like his daddy! :-) Reyes happens to have a very protective Big Sis/Parttime Nanny named Ruby, who ummm, also happens to be the family dog. She had to check things out first before we photographed Baby Rey and kept a good eye on us the whole time we were there, making sure we weren't up to any funny business. And poor Miss Ruby just wanted to get up and snuggle on our set so badly that at one point she dodged us and jumped up, knocking the whole thing down... LOL. She also helped to make sure Reyes' hair was all in place and that he looked good for his shots. At just 8 weeks Baby Rey showed off all his dedicated hours of tummy time by holding his head up all by himself! Yay Rey!
Chey & Maris, so good to see you both and meet sweet little Rey! We miss you and can't wait to see you in a few months when we photograph Reyes again!! I hope sooner! <3

Wow - these pictures are unbelievably unique and beautiful!! I love the props and soft colors and it looks like the kids had a lot of fun posing! Thanks for sharing these lovely photos with me!
