Kayleigh brought some great props, including her awesomely dangerous riding boots, funky cowgirl hat, and her flute. Too cute! I had such a great time meeting Jaclyn, Jim & Sweet Little Baby C at their newborn portrait session this week! Like many of my newborns recently, Miss C came camera ready... and fiesty as ever! At just 11 days old she was so alert and her "little" personality was shining right through! I just had to get these sneak peeks off before the end of the weekend! I was so happy to have the opportunity to try out a few new backdrops and fun new props at the studio!! I've been waiting for a new baby girl to come through... we seem to be having a spring of little baby boys... with 2 more coming my way!

When Gramma Cindy told me that Sir Baron was about to embark on his first big trip across the world, I knew I wanted to do a Vintage Suitcase themed photo shoot for his 9 month old baby portraits. Besides being just about the cutest thing in this whole wide world, Little B was an absolute champ for his photo shoot. And although it took him a little bit to figure out if he liked Mark's continuously growing beard, the two were quickly becoming close buddies by the time we said good bye for the day.
Gramma Cindy and Mommy Blaire did such an awesome job keeping the little Sir entertained with songs and squeekies while I snapped away. Yay Mommy and Grandma!!! :-)
We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph Little B! We can't wait to show Mommy and Daddy the rest of the session images!! But for now, enjoy this quick sneak peek!!!!

We had a total blast yesterday photographing Laura and Steve's Engagement photo shoot! What an awesome couple!! We love our engagement sessions because it really gives us a chance to get to know our bride and groom before the wedding, when there is more time to have fun and play with them! We had so much fun getting to know Laura and Steve and to meet all of their cute kitties!! Although the spent most of the time hiding from us under the bed, Tidus (pictured below) and Grimm did "allow" us a few photos. I don't think they're ready for Hollywood yet. Thanks Steve and Laura for letting us spend the afternoon with you, rearranging furniture and photographing you in your lovely home! Enjoy your sneak peek! Can't wait to show you the rest! Steve and Laura love Tim Burton, so we used much more dramatic lighting for the photos taken inside, and even incorporated a few of their collectibles into some of the shots.

I think Steve thought I was crazy when I directed him in this next shot. LOL I hope he can see my vision now in the finished product. LOL Steve??

Mark and I were blessed to spend Sunday at the beach photographing the wedding of Ben and Heather Alms. It has been such a joy meeting and getting to know them over the past few months. They have a beautiful daughter Madeleine, who we also just adore. The wedding was at the Surf n' Sand in Laguna Beach. Heather looked absolutely gorgeous!! Her hair and make-up were styled by Nicole and Sheryl from David Salon in Costa Mesa.

Having mucho experience in the world of headshots, there is one thing I can affirm: a good headshot = good business!
As an actor, one of the most important things you must have is a good headshot. I've gone through dozens, and they've changed and evolved in style just as much as I have in my experiences. Although updating your headshot every year or two isn't as common of a practice outside the world of hollywood, I do highly recommend having a current headshot that best presents who you are and what you look like at this time. (not a photo taken 15 years ago that you are still trying to pass off as being current... i'm being funny and serious at the same time here...). I can't tell you how many times I have met someone, whether casting a show or meeting someone after just seeing a photograph that they've posted online and they look absolutely nothing like the person in the photo.
In business we are constantly networking and connecting with new people. And with today's technology most everyone has a website or some form of online business communication. People like to see who they are talking and working with. I don't know about you, but isn't it really nice when you go to someone's website or blog and find a well done, friendly, open and honest looking picture of the person you are looking to do business with?
Mark and I really focus on getting each of our clients to relax as much as possible and come ready to just be you. Our goal is to create an environment where you feel like you've just walked into the home of a dear close friend or are out grabbing a bite to eat with fellow co-workers and having a casual conversation... whatever makes you feel relaxed and not focused on "Oh my gosh, I'm getting my picture taken right now... aim I making that stupid face, ugh, I hate that face.... oh, I feel so fat today... I hope my hair didn't go flat... did I turn the coffee pot off...?????" If you are thinking it, we've heard it. And you know what, it's comforting to know that you are NOT alone!!
